On November 24, the "Key Laboratory of Coastal Zone Geographic Environment Monitoring of the State Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information" jointly declared by Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Spatial Information Intelligent Perception and Service of our University, Shenzhen Municipal Commission of Planning, Land and Resources (Municipal Oceanic Administration), Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong passed the feasibility demonstration。
Nine academicians and experts from Wuhan University, the Second Institute of Oceanography of the State Oceanic Administration, the National Basic Geographic Information Center, the Satellite Environmental Application Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Land and Resources Department of Guangdong Province, the Planning and Land and Resources Commission of Shenzhen City (Municipal Oceanic Administration), the National Marine Technology Center and Sun Yat-sen University formed the demonstration expert group。The demonstration meeting was presided over by Wu LAN, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology and International Cooperation Department of the National Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information, and Xu Chen, vice president of our university, gave a welcome speech。Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the National Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information, Deputy Director Wang Chunfeng and the person in charge of the relevant joint application units attended the demonstration meeting。
Professor Li Qingquan, director of Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Spatial Information Intelligent Perception and Service, made a feasibility report on the construction of the laboratory to the expert group。The expert group listened to the construction feasibility report, fully affirmed the necessity of the construction of the key laboratory, and put forward pertinent and feasible improvement suggestions。Experts agreed that in the face of national Marine, geographical conditions monitoring, land and sea co-ordination and the development strategy of the "Shenzhen-Hong Kong innovation Circle" as well as the needs of the comprehensive and harmonious development of regional society, economy, environment and ecology，The construction of the key laboratory will play a positive role in meeting the national strategic needs and serving the sustainable development of local economy and society，Clear construction objectives，Direction design and development ideas are reasonable。It is conducive to promoting the progress of surveying and mapping science and technology and personnel training, filling the platform gap of the National Bureau of Surveying and Mapping and Geographic Information in coastal zone research, and unanimously passed the feasibility demonstration of the construction of key laboratories。
